Discovering History's graphic novels highlight two African American teens reshaping their race's often overlooked history. Through compelling storytelling and vivid illustrations, these novels make historical contexts engaging. They aim to educate, inspire, and foster a deeper appreciation of Black history, offering a distinctive product in both literary and educational spaces.

At Discovering History, our graphic novels provide an engaging and immersive experience that blends informational, adventurous, and comedic elements to bring history to life. Our stories focus on significant yet often underrepresented historical events involving assassinations, massacres, injustices, and revolutions, as well as the revolutionaries who shaped these eras. While the historic events depicted are well-documented, our portrayal of these occurrences is presented through creative non-fiction narratives, ensuring each issue offers a unique and captivating perspective. This approach allows us to highlight the rich history and contributions of Black individuals and provide our readers with both educational and entertaining content.

The creators were significantly inspired by anime and manga, and to honor this influence, they included the Japanese translation of "Discovering History" in their work. Hence, Discovering History is also known as Reikishi O Hakken Suru. This dual naming pays homage to the anime and manga culture that sparked their creativity and dedication to highlighting historical narratives often overlooked.
